I've seen the question "Which wheels are these" asked so many times that I thought I'd better post this :
Capri Laser wheels are 6" x 13" with taper seat wheel nuts and have thicker spokes than the Mk2 RS wheels
RS2000 Mk2 wheels are 6" x 13" with flat seat wheel nuts - earlier GKN manufactured wheels have slightly thinner spokes than the later Ford only branded RS 4 spokes (Dove grey and polished)
Both have the same offset and use the same centre caps (Capri ones were plain black RS ones have RS on them)
7" x 13" wheels were offered in the Ford RS parts catalogue as an accessory for Capri and Fiesta (fitted with X-pack round arch extensions)
These were not listed for Escorts by Ford Motor company even though they do fit. These use flat seat wheel nuts. These have a Ford RS logo cast into one of the spokes. (these are made by Ronal - on one spoke)
Finished in silver metallic
7.5" x 13" wheels were offered as an accessory for Escort and Capri with wing extensions (ie X-packs) and these use flat seat wheel nuts. These are made by ATS (on the back of one spoke) Finished in silver metallic.
Wheel nuts for standard 6"x13 "factory fit wheels are chrome with flat washers and the 7" and 7.5" wheels could use these or be fitted with Black chromed nuts which were listed in the catalogue along with centre caps that had a black RS logo on a silver back ground ( still the same size cap though).
There are also 6" x 13" GP1 wheels, which are made by ATS, these are the same width as the standard wheel but have deeper spokes - the wheel nuts sit down deeper holes, and have webs on the rear of the spokes to provide extra strength, these have an H75ab part number on the front of the wheel on one spoke, which identify them as a unique RS part. Silver metallic again.
Then FWD offset wheels were made for Fiesta SuperSport in a 6" x 13" - these have very little rim to them, and the accessory catalogue lists 6" x 13" for Fiesta, Escort 3 and Cortina - these are very similar to SuperSport rims but they have an RS and Ford logo cast into one of the spokes.(branded as Ronal) Silver again.
Then there are the Mk1 wheels 5.5" x 13" for a standard Mk1 Escort, flat seat, Pearl grey metallic and diamond cut and laquered finish. These use centre caps which push through from behind.
And the Gp1 Mk1 wheels 6"x13" flat wheel nut seat, with the tyre valve coming out of one of the spokes through a circular casting and centre caps which fit from behind.
I have also seen (well I've got one actually) a version of the MK1 Gp1 wheel with a MK2 centre cap sized hole dated to 1980. (another Ronal) and painted silver metallic.
6" x 14" 4 spoke alloys were also available, made by Pirelli and sold in Italy, these are really rare, and use a taper seat nut. I've only seen 1 set on a car, and one other set for sale.
It's a minefied of confusion - that's without getting into RS3100 Capri and JPS Capri Mk2 wheel differences as well !!!!
Above is correct and the 1007 is fords code for alloy wheel
its the GA part that matters an escort wheel is AA,i think
this code is for a capri 6" alloy. Are the markings on the face
of the spokes or the rear,if they are on the face then it will
be a capri probably dated '81>
