bung some blue stripes on it and those lovelly wheels after you've lowered it 2" all round, much easier to put back with those subtle changes.

True but isn't it an expensive experiment and it of course devalues the car, (not that you want to sell it of course but nevertheless).

A decent paint job is of course gonna set you back 3K at least, and that twice??? and stripping and rebuilding twice, with all that can break.
