i hope the bid winner is going to pick them up personally for that price !!!!!

now you wouldnt want them getting lost in the post now would ya

agree with all the comments above - got to be looked at all ways - some things just aint black and white anymore and we'd all like a top bid to come in on something we are selling

I dont think its fair to say "more money than sense". If someone had a concours car and that was the only bit letting their car down they would go for it. Its so difficult to explain. In reality whats worth more, a new inner wing to the man who wants it or the pair of rubbers to the man who wants them ????? please answer that one.

This is my point, it's not the "real market value" as Bri says it's people who can't bid a sensible amount that can't wait any see if stuff comes up again as it always does, a while back there were 3 or 4 Gp1 leccy fans on one after the other, but have to have stuff, can't wait, the Pound being stronger, and the more people do it the faster the prices rise.

It's a spiral and all these that "can't wait", "got to have it" people push the prices of everything up for all. This is an artificial world, if these sort of rules applied in society nobody that wasn't rich would have free schooling or be able to have health care, like in Dickensian days.

This is also why the British have to pay £30 and upwards to watch a game of football cos instead of not buying Sky packages and not protesting (not going to games or protesting at matches) they just accept it all and pay up, and that's now why up norf loads of grounds aren't anything liked filled.

Now this is where the gents come in
            I have had
            Grp1 Wheels
            New Gutter trims
            Steering Wheels

all at well well below EBAY market value

all from People on here and I know they would fetch a pretty Sum, but wont sell them as that would ruin the trust and friendship built up.

more money than sense, of course you can say that, you can't justify that sort of figure ever, you could have some professionally made up for a lot less than that.

If it were like a house where you could say adding that bit makes the car worth 5K more then maybe it would even be cheap at the price but it won't will it?

It's the communist in me. I've never felt comfortable in a World where the man with the deepest pockets always wins but I'm old enough to realise that it's the way things are. That doesn't mean I like it that way but what can you do if you don't make the rules. Saying that I'm not the best person to comment on something like this because I've never understood concourse either, it's all a bit too anal for me and I think two rubber grommets for over £300 backs that up.

I sold a one owner, low mileage, 100% standard V reg Custom last year for £1750 to a lad from Leigh. It wanted a restore because it'd been stood in a garage since 1986 and had damp scabs everywhere but it was an easy restore and would have made a very nice car, he did say he'd let me see the car when he's finished it but I've never heard off him

................and then have the judges come around and say that your £310 rubbers look like copies and your getting points deducted because of it

All well and good moaning about prices ,but to me you set yourself a price if it goes over you wait for the next one.
I dont hear to many saying about great deals they have had .
I got a very nice 3 spoke wheel with centre and fiesta boss for the reasonable price of £2 at a car boot and i know of another user who paid a pound for a steering wheel which sold on ebay for £100+ (non escort).
These good deals do happen and soften the high prices you sometimes have to pay for a part thats needed.

I have bought parts at well below ebay prices from various members of this site and I am eternally grateful.

I have also bought parts from members of this site off ebay at market value.

                          Its all good.

As long as the buyer is happy, who gives a sh!t.
