  • Not Sure.....

As most people know, i,m a buyer for several main dealers, i scratch a living, get some free time, dont work weekends, jobs a good-un. This morning an old manager of mine has called and asked me would i like to do a couple of days a week retail at their Lotus site, kind of cover for the one sales guy and put some spark in the place, one side of me thinks, thats abit different, few more pennies. The other side of me thinks about all the reasons i gave up retail four years ago, the general public, the hours and the associated shite thats goes with retail, mind you, the lure of an Exige as a company smoke sounds quite appealing, i thanked him for his offer and asked for 48h to think about it what do you think

Just for 2 days a week for a set period of time. I would go for it !

A break from the norm is like a good rest.

BTW worked in retail in Oxford street, Harrods & tottenham court road selling computers for a well known computer chain in the early mid 90's, anything is better than signing on !

Depends on who the dealer is Ian, and whether there part of a PLC or not?? If it's a PLC then do you really want to be involved in all the politics, CSI, and standards bollox that is part and parcel of it all these days ??

If it's a small privately owned dealer, that will leave you to get on with the core business (which is shifting metal isn't it??!!) then go for it. As has been said before, if it doesn't work out, you can always walk..... Nothing ventured, nothing gained!!

very difficult innit, none of our business really.

Be nice to have something dead steady as it were, I think, sounds boring to most, but a job where your employer pays up every month and has to pay NI contributions etc has a lot going for it.
If self employed, and for some reason you can't work you can be ****ed after a few weeks.
I'd have thought it being a Lotus dealer that the clientele aren't quite as painful as others like Jag or Volvo, still you've got to live with them so if you don't fancy it then leave it. You can always walk away though as has been said
