  • hi guys question

my m8 has just bought a 4 door with a pinto init and we had been askin arround for mk2's.
one guy gave us the location of a mk2 with a 3.0 v6 essex block the only cath was we guess it had been there a while. we knocked on the door of the house where it was at and a old lady awnsered and she said that it was her sons and it has been sat there for 11 years, he was goin to do it up but hasnt got to it. now it looks ok ish moludy and shitty but ok. did a little resurch on it and it turns out that it is a limited edition and it came with the essex block. she dosent know this tho and we were thinking of buying and restoring it to original condition.
so the question is how much would it be worth fully and i mean fully restored?

    cheers shane

Is this car a MK2?????? If so, I'm not aware of any that came with an esses engine fitted from the factory. Certainly no RS. If it is a MK1 then there were a few Broadspeed V6's built for the public but these are VERY few and far between these days.

apparently it is a mk2 must be very rare as i thought the same thing as soon as he said a 3.0 essex mk2 ill see if i can get him to get some pics and ill post them up.
but if it is what it is it would be worth?

didnt savage or jeff uren or somebody like that make a mk2 escort powered by a v6 and called it something like the apache or comanche, i remember seeing one at a show years ago.
Would have thought that a heavy old v6 would affect the handling somewhat.

crayford did a mk1 escort 3 litre V6, they called it "the eliminator" hard top, not convertible. i think one exists in southampton?? jeff uren (of savage cortina fame ) did a comanche, but it was a capri. i would have thought that a mk2 V6 may have been known by another name, DIY BODGE
