  • Spot the Difference !!

I had a fluctuating oil pressure reading on my engine.

    What are you thoughts ?

I will let you all know what the "warranty department" of a well know parts supplier has to say about the (in my opinion) faulty oil pump.

btw :- god knows how but no bearing damage - it looks like my oil cooler collected all the deposits and oil filter stopped it going into engine.

Transmission noise was a sha**ed clutch release bearing.

good for another 10,000 IMO :bom: Dave, You're a lucky man. If I had that pump in mine it would have wrecked everything.

Pinto oil pumps are a scandal. I have built 3 engines with new pumps and 2 pumps have been faulty.
Mark Skeats Mk1 lost oil pressure at the Castle Combe sprint last Saturday, almost certainly the cap for the spring coming loose. All should be revealed tomorrow (and back together for Longcross next weekend and Gurston Down the week after).
Suggest past suppliers of faulty pumps are named. I'll start with Piper.
