My latest job is to sort out a 2.2 Pinto for a customer, it had a bit of a noise on the rolling road, which turned out to be a loose flywheel.
I got the 'box out (after wobbling the flywheel about through the starter motor hole) and removed the flywheel. Which was double dowelled to the crank. Sadly whoever did this has stepped the dowells the wrong way round so that they can be removed from the assembly without removing the flywheel.
The loose bolts have allowed the flywheel to rock on the end of the crank and this has ovalled the holes in the flywheel and the dowel holes in the crank too.
Crank is now out ready for another set of holes to be drilled off-set from the last pair (job for a machine shop) I should also (hopefully) get away with not having to replace the flywheel once it's dowelled again
All good fun
