Are Aldridge producing the chocolate brown cloth yet? Last time I spoke to them they were having probs matching the brown colour. I rang so many times and got peed off with waiting.

had stuff from them before and there always top notch
Have you found out more details from them? Is a "cover" seat squab, seat back, and headrest?

Mk1 seat is the easiest to recover, Fishnet is fairly straightforward but the rolltop is a bit of hassle, the cover connects to the foam in an unusual way, a bit fiddly and easy to screw up.

Makes a huge difference to a restored car though.

they come as a set which basically means, all the covers alreday sewn into shape with all the vinyl sewn as well, ie the headrests look like "bags" that you fit over your foam, my set turned up on my birfday 30/6/72 (lovely girlfriend I have ) and I just got them in

          very chuffed I am too

          thats my interior now finished

Trimmed several sets for the late mk1 roll tops using beta covers and have to say the fit is spot on

Takes me between 12 and 16 hrs to do a set , that is trimmed right, If you can get then done for £30 a seat good on you's.

Normally change rubber belting under foam in bases as this is normally shagged, not many trimmers do this but i have access to a sexy sewing machine at work ha

a few pics of last set i done

yep richy is spot on with his prices i put him onto the chap , he is truely excelent , done a a set of works contour seats for me in microcell pvc from sratch including cutting a new foam base for the drivers as it was missing restrung all the underside for a princely sum of £200s all in ,
how refreshing a skilled person just making a living rather than taking the mick with over inflated prices , i had gone to another local chap who i later found had been trained by him and he wanted between £650 and £700 to do the same job.

Sounds a top man and that those prices he will be rushed off his feet for work

A small buisness would have to charge more , strugle to make ends meet working 12 hrs for £200 , tax , public liability insurance , overheads etc.But i do agree there is with the light of ebay a lot of people charging mad money for re trimmed seats mate.

want to buy the covers off Aldridge but they're doing their best to be unhelpful at the moment.

I asked them for price delivered to UK address and also if they're in stock or whether there is a production time.

                            First response:

                            £250 + VAT front
                            £145.20 + VAT rear

Then I asked a second time about availability, postage and what is UK VAT rate

                            Second response:
                            £10 + VAT

Can someone just post what UK VAT is at the mo and whether Aldridge have these in stock or make to order taking weeks.

Certainly Aldridge don't seem to care too much about giving answers. Hope their covers are better

I spoke to Aldridge a couple of weeks ago and they had no Beta and were expecting some in about 3 weeks , that would make it the next week or so. Also asked them for pics of their repro MK2 door cards , still waiting
