  • Red MK2 RS at Le Mans, who was it

Does anyone know who took a Red MK2 RS2000 to this years Le Mans race?
A couple of people from our party got chatting with him and he said he knew me but they didn't get his name.
Would of been great to meet up and have a pic of the two old girls together. I also saw a Red MK1 escort with a cosy engine in it this year.

Well the trip was great even though my halfshaft bearings went on the trip down and my diff started to make all sort of sounds so had to do the 940 mile round trip at 60-65mph max, but on the good news I only used 4 tanks of fuel.

Will get some pics on soon as need to borrow them from others on the trip.

I got back late last night. A hell of a few days. Tiring.

Some lovely cars about too. TVR's, Lotus 7's, Ferraris etc. My epic journey over to Le Mans was in the following:

Van, plane, train, tube, tube, train, car, boat, car.

It'll be a while before I sleep in a tent again btw. It got very cold on Sat. night.

It was me spoke to you at the lakes and classic ford about going.

Was it the two lads in the Foci as we were leaving sunday or the two walking who shouted "GIMP MOTORSPORT" as i drove past ?

Lakes and Works Team plates on display as well as the web site stickers in the side windows.

New claim to fame ,nearly got knocked flying off the pit wall at the presentations. Was standing on the wall about 4 foot up when this big green umbrella (Aston Martin badged) nearly knocks me over ,push the brolly back so i stayed on the wall . Brolly tips over and Dave Richards says "sorry mate" and walks off through the crowd leaving me open mouthed.

It would of been the two in the FRS, shame we didn't meet up.
Was a bit wet this year and the gimp badge was on show all weekend

Good weekend even if it was a tad wet.
