          Brian,

all I can say is the Ford dealers you use are 10 times better than the ones over here.

          Thanks again

              An update on this,

I went back to the local Ford dealers (in Blackpool Dermot) armed with my part numbers from Brian, they have them in stock as you rightly said and I pick it up tomorrow, fingers crossed it will be the correct one but shall be taking the original cable with me to compare.

Thanks for your help once more

I'm suprised you had trouble if you're from Blackpool. The RS dealer there was Thomas Motors and they were very knowledgable. Does anybody know the Finis no for the clutch cable any help would be grateful. Many thanks Garth.

                          cables

if you get stuck getting the exact right clutch, throttle and speedo cables for the old mk1's and 2's ect just get a speedo cable for a pinto'd sierra or the throttle cable from a petrol transit.

they might be a bit longer but in my case i needed a speedo cable which i could re-route away from my manifold because the original one melted!

                          hope this helps

Thomas Motors closed down unfortunatley about 10years ago and sold all the old stock when they went.

Seems to me Fords round here are not interested unless you have the correct info and give them hassle!

As soon as you mention MK2 Escort, they seem to have the same answer "I will look on the data base & phone you back" NOT!

I'm sure it's like this all round this country nowadays, unless someone knows any different?
