Aad over in Holland sent me pictures of his lovely MK1

Hello Brian!

I did it!!!! Drove my mk1 now around the clock! After a sixteen years of ownership and about 65000 km’s the clock says 0 km’s! It’s really funny to see this change while driving…. I made a quick photo with my mobile phone to keep it for documentation to go with the car.

It did these km’s with very little trouble, only the normal renewals from brakes, oil change and exhaust etc, and only a new water pump last year! It’s daily used by me all the year through, even during the winter.

deadly....my uncle went round the clock on his mk1 escort twice...he bought it brand new in 68/69 & i think it came off the road in the early 90's.....farmers....

But it is only kms.

I recently went round the clock (digital) on my motorbike (also kms) in 6 years from new. Still going strong and I would hope to yet make the equivalent of 100,000 miles.
