Unless you have an agreed value with your insurers it doesnt matter what you tell them its worth, if anything happens to it they will only pay book price for it

get an agreed value on it .

Well before i had an agreed value on mine when i was speaking to AON they asked me how much i thought i was worth , i told them and they told me that if it got stolen they would still only pay out book price for it hence why i got it properly valued and sent the valuation off to AON .

Only going by what i was told

I gave my insurance company the spec with photo's and told them the cost of replacement.

Mine is currently insured for more than triple what the rsoc would value it at on parts to replace alone....

              10k engine
              2k brakes
              2k suspension

              etc etc....

I didn't want the resell value cause its not for sale, i wanted it replaced if it got stolen....

Do they follow book prices on what the owners clubs publish? Or the guide prices that are in magazines like the back of Practical Classics?

After sending in pics to my insurance they sent back how much they thought it was worth, with a certificate of guaranteed valuation. I was quite pleased

I think anyone doing a valuation would require more to give you an accurate value, interior shots, engine bay shots, boot floor, underside etc etc, also at better resolution.

I don't think you can give a real valuation from pictures alone to be honest.
