  • whats my car worth if ????

i return it back to std. ?? i am going to fire it on ebay when i get it back from the painters and i hope i wont need to strip it , but if it dosent meet reserve what is it worth with std bits fitted i.e. 1.6 4 speed std struts shocks springs brakes but leave all the trim in inc. custom cards console as i am needing gone asap and i am willing to return it to std. so it would sell easier albeit lagging

    discuss whats it worth ????

I'd love to, but I haven't got my May/June Rally News with the valuations in yet!

I'm tempted Ricky - you need to court me into it!

surely you'd get more if you put it back standard, then sell off the go faster bits separately??

        pain in the butt though

If I was buying something like yours Rick, I'd be happier buying one that's not so mechanically 'wild' and be prepared to pay good money for it as the real money to my mind is in the condition of the shell, not the running gear. By that I mean if it had a mild 2 litre, normal 5 speed box and standard RS wheels etc I reckon you'd sell it *much* easier. I don't think the brakes / LSD / suspenders etc are a negative as most people don't get scared off by them, whereas your engine & box will scare off the average buyer.

The market for massively modified cars is a small one and I reckon you'll get more for the wild engine / box out of the car rather than in it. It's an ideal start point as a rolling shell for someone wanting to put a zetec in (as I would if the thumb would let me have it).

I'll just teach you to suck eggs though

I don't think you want to sell it anyway, you're in love with the damn thing.
