                This is what i have sent to Steve;
                Hi Steve,
                As a proud owner of a 1978 Ford Escort MK2 Mexico, i feel the need to express my concern over the recent "MK2 Mexico" valuations printed in the May/June edition of Rallye News.
                In my opinion they are seriously under valued, and feel that the current Registrar is "out of touch" with regards to realistic values on this marque.
                Having first joined the RSOC in 1986 and owned MK2 RS Escorts for 21 years, i have watched the prices fluctuate over the years. But with fewer genuine cars available and the demand higher than ever, common sense tells you that prices will keep rising. To replace my own car based on these valuations, in the current market, would be utterly impossible. Therefore something should be done to rectify this before an RSOC member and "MK2 Mexico" owner gets financally penalised due to this error of judgement.
                Here are my valuations based on todays market;
                Average - £3K-5K
                Good - £5K-7K
                A1 - £7K-10K
                Concours - £10K-14K

                Hope you can be of some help on this matter,
                Yours sincerely
                Diarmid Harvey (29707).

                  Personally, I think Mr. Hughes is spot on with his valuations. Everyone knows that the Mexico lags behind the RS2, so I'm firmly on his side where this is concerned.

                  Totally unconnected, I'm looking for a nice Mk2 Mexico - not that this altered my opinion about the above... I'll wait until I've got one to agree with you lot!

                    These valuations cant be right. I must take Worthers as an example. What would it cost to replace the car ??. I know what i have spent. How would you work that one out ????
