My Mk2 is off to the shop again ....

Sending the new girl off to have some more make up done this weekend. Going to be away for a few weeks so trying to make sure it sthe last time I have to do paint for a while!!

here is my list...

Fit new Strut top plates
Roll rear arches
Remove rear spring hangers
Fit new harness bolt doubler plates
Weld in plate for Hydraulic handbrake location
Make ally blanks and fill in firewall gaps
Make custom under dash ally wiring cover
Box and drill hydraulic resevoir line ports

Found a 5mm circle of blisters on the O/S rear quater, so cutting out a 1" hole and replating it. Only way to make sure!

Stone chip and repaint under all arches
Repaint (3rd time) under floor with stone chip and paint.
Repaint rear quaters after rolling and welding

Then I think its just about done??
Not going to be a cheap few jobs but once its mint its going to be well worth the effort!

Watch this space for progress reports and pictures.

Can you think of anything I should look at welding underneath before painting yet again?? Or anything you wished you done to the underside or floor of your car before painting?

Mr Turbo. Going accross to Heritage Classics in Boro. Same lad (John) that did the last lot of paint work for me. He is not cheap, but very very good!!

He already bought the paint last year before the new laws came out. So going to match up nice!

At long last eh?? Will try for National Day???
