  • How about a Holbay Engine anyone ???

before we all go weak at the knees its actually a Holbay built 2.4 stroker YB Turbo engine. Built by Holbay naturally and has the reworked head, stroker rods and steel crank along with the black strip Holbay cam cover jobbie.

But I am just wondering what sort of value an engine like this would hold?

This particular engine already belongs to me and has been sat stripped down for inspection and rebuild for some years now. Everything is there barring the large RS500 inlet plenum which I already sold on also. I am wondering if I should just sit on this engine for a while longer and maybe drop it into an Escort at some point in the future. Or spend a few bob and get it put back together for flogging on??

Would be nice to rework the head for N/A and put some big carbs on it!!

    Any thoughts on values?

          Yikes!!!

the engine is currently stripped and would most likely get rebuilt with new pistins as they are slightly scored. The rest of the rebuild would of course be with new parts as required. So it would basically be all new.

I think I had better get it put back together then!!!

Do you reckon its worth that ammount still as a Turbo head then?

So your estimate was based om it being built as a NA car then?
What about value guess as a fresh built Turbo Holbay Stroker engine then?

How about this for a sump...

I am told it was once fitted to a Bathurst RS500 race car.
It was also in the collection I bought.
