excellent car but has to be the dark metallic green or black

but petrol will keep you busy booting it and around 16-19 mpg I would have one but the insurance over here is silly on them £2000 for me with full NCD and nearly 40

He has been in touch with me, and it is a nice car, but for another 4 grand I could get an Esc Cos. But I did think about it.

Ran one for 2 1/2 years, 75 thousand miles and over 30 trackdays, mine was a W-plate year 2000 turbo. Fantastic car, very costly to run (total cost over that time was in xs of 10k for servicing, tyres, parts etc and over 12k in fuel) but it was supremely reliable, never once did it let me down (apart from when the immobilser failed in Sainsbury's car park in Hereford, god damn BT building). Only sold it 4 months ago and still miss it. For cross country work there's not much that can touch it, believe me.

Be very careful buying if you do want one, there's soooooooooooo much rubbish out there. Clutches can fail very quickly if it's abused, but if not then they can last well, I never had to change mine. Brakes are shite, slightly better on the year 2000 model, Subaru changed the calipers to 4 pots in '99. Fit decent Pagid pads and all's well unless you abuse them on track.

Oh and make sure you have shares in Shell, you'll need them. Average mpg round town was about 22-23, dropping to the teens on a decent cross country run. Track use was 6-7mpg, Spa saw me burning 33 gallons in 210 miles.

              In summary: I'd have another.

Thanks for all the help, but looks like have got another car now anyway.....a Porsche Boxster. The ironic thing is the mk2 will remain my toy and the Porsche is my everyday car!
