I would say it is the clubs fault Kel, camping was never a problem at Donington?
Why cant the national day organiser organise an 'official' camp site. I'm sure a few calls to local farmers/campsites could sort something out easily, its not rocket science.
The whole idea of National day to many was 'making a weekend of it' and camping was a huge part of the weekend for many.

Did the club organise camping last year, of was it organised by donnington & the club just advertised it?

Alan thats not the point, even if the service was Doningtons own doing, the service was still provided by the RSOC for it's members and its the RSOC members that remember RSOC camping not the under lying provider. The club gets the blame for all the cars stolen over the years at Donington not Donington.
Maybe the club shouldnt of taken on Rockingham if all the required services for the show could not be catered for.
I want to support the club (I hate using the term national) but its getting hard to see why, the club is not supporting us and each year it get less and less and less.
Comments dont help like 'let shut the BBS down' from committee members either.
If my mk2 is still in my ownership in August it maybe a case that I cant see the point of attending. Camping was a big part of the show for a lot of people.Last edited by Guest; 27-04-2007, 09:06.

people die every year at glastonbury in tents, is that micheal eavis's fault?
you cant run a bath if you think something is going to happen all the time!! what if i got my finger stuck in the plughole? what happens if the water is too hot? what happens if my wife runs in with a plugged in electric fire? what if the ceiling caves in? what if a hot air balloon lands on the roof?

From what I can find there are only 2 sites, the Works team site 18 miles away and another 8 miles away (listings in RSOC post).
lets bring the fun back and stop worrying about other people.
yes, they could do 150mph on the convoy but so what? if they choose to drive like that then its their fault, not the organiser as a disclaimer on the camping ticket would banish any illegal driving to and from the campsite.
