Bit of an update. Rang him this morning after a completely sleepless night worrying and seething about it. Was really calm for me He admitted straight away that he had Cut corners and rushed it and gave a few excuses as to why which I wasn't interested in. He says he will rectify all the work but i am now thinking can I trust him again??? He wants the car back on Monday for him to do the work but I am now in the thinking of just patching it up for this year (Good old Rodders) and come Sept go for the full on strip down of the car (Again) and get it all done properly for once and all. I have the weekend to toy with the idea of what to do but really have been put off taking the car to him ever again. If this is going to be the case then I will ring him and sort out payment for the "Work" done which I think will be a third of the price and no more. Will then spend the rest of the summer collecting new front end panels ready for the winter.

BIG advance thanks to Rodders for helping me tomorrow and the coffee and what not will be flowing whenever you ask. Also thank you to everyone who rang me today (Spent 2 hours on the phone in work time ) and everyone who has left kind comments to this thread. It's times like these when I realise what a great community we have on here and with the MK2's in general. Cheers.

i would feel the same as you about not wanting to take the car back to this guy now.
i think the best thing to do is offer a small payment for what he's done (but would try not to pay anything as job that was asked for was not done) and get it done properly else where m8

Been to frosty bolla**ks today and done his weilding , what a job, the bloke who was doing it made a right bodge , all sorted for now but to get a proper job need to take the wing off.. winter project..
Good coffee too ,its on tap no drout up north side of notts unlike south side , neil .. If any one is passing its well worth dropping in for a cup or two .. check this out for a cup , proper ...
