This followed on from the Mk1 Mexico only being homologated as a 1601cc car, so never competitive in class.
As for RS2000s, 3,500 or so Mk1s in total meant some creative homologation to meet Gp1 requirements (5000 in 12 months) and even if the Mk2 had sought Gp1 homologation as a separate car (rather than as "evolution" of the Mk1) it maxed out at 3000+ in 1979 of the claimed 10,000 total built...
