  • our roads near home

I'll try to post some of the awesome roads not far from here. 2nd and 3rd gear screamers! One mountain road should be blocked off and run as a hill climb, a 10km hillclimb!

This magic piece of road leads into the Southern Highlands. It is about 10kms long and full of cambered 2nd & 3rd gear corners. A few warnings though: trucks who slow you down and Sportsbikes who want and do overtake on the inside of you anywhere! There are 2 15km\h hairpin corners that are just perfect for a bit of tailout action, nice and wide.

Taken at the top of the Pass

    Arty pic.

Kel, I used to run some Observation Rallies around these roads a few years a go. Reports of 1 RS chasing a Suby down one of the tighter sections and 3 wheeling as well are well founded! I wish I had a video camera for that.
There are many more great roads I'll get pics to post.

Nr Minehead the Porlock Toll Road

BTW can you describe a corner as a hairpin if it can be taken at 215 Km/h?
And that in a MkII too
