The Sport was the reason the Mex was withdrawn

yeah the old Sport was so much cheaper than a Mex and it didn't have a 2 litre motor in it, i.e. no reason to pay the extra

I had a lot of fun in my Sport too, but only with a pepped up interior, and bleedin buzzin X-flow, thank Gawd for the Type 9

To be honest I've always preffered a good pair roll tops LOL. I wonder how many low mileage sports are left? Does anybody remember the white car a 1.6 sport that was for sale years ago with RS1800 look? Genuine low mileage and often seen for sale in the Fast Ford mag.

I was tempted to buy a Worthers style 1600 Sport (Biscuit colour) 45000 Mks on the clock, totally original, didn't want to part with 2500 Euros for a Sport though, then the prices went ape and paid a fair whack more for an RS instead, never mind the RS is a goodun

Had 2 signal yellow sports a 1300 and a 1600. 1300 was better IMO as it revved forever Would definitely have another as they are such a rare car nowadays

xflow 16 sports revved like hell! and a lot lighter than a pinto. Same engine went into mk1 xr2 transversely if my memory serves me well
