They count for 3 years but you cannot have them removed from your licence for 5 years. Just waiting to pick up a form for a new license myself to loose the 9 that are on mine

You could get penalty points (endorsements) on your driving record if you're convicted of a motoring offence

I think fixed penalty speeding is 4 years but drink/drive is 10 years.

Valid for 3 yrs for most things but must stay on for 4 yrs, 10 yrs for Drink driving.
