had similar probs last year with plugs - now runs "ngk 8's" - is always one of the simplest and first things to look for if a bit spluttery

glad the grin factor is back

well that was only the start of my problems yesterday, car broke down again on way home, sitting around for 3 hrs while my mechainc stripped the carb & jets , got it running again , so made it home sweet enough ....as we have now sold my partners car that left us with only the one car & as she is 7 months pregnant I feel safer leaving her the car in case something happened ...so started the car this morning got 10 miles away from my gaf & the spluttering started again....then she just broke down, , but by this time I was closer to my dads than my house....so I had to wake my dad up & get him to come up & tow me back to his, the car now wont start & if it does it dies rather quick....even though my foot would be to the floor to get the power on it just wont kick in....im worn out & depressed over it

Aaron, I had a similar problem to yours a while back. Sounded like she was running on 3, and when hot, would only keep going if I kept it with very high revs. If I stopped, I had to let it cool down for 20 mins before she would start again. Ended up being the condenser and cost a couple of quid to replace. Hope this helps.

                          Condenser

                          Hi Arron,

The same thing happened to my RS2000 coming back from portlaoise. Got it home just about and replaced the condenser and the problem was sorted. You should get one in any motor factor. Try this first and let us know how you get on.

ive got a brand new one in the glove box....i replaced the condensor a few weeks ago but it was from my van, it has a blown head gasket & is strpped ready for restoration, this could be the problem......i will be changing all the spark plugs & condensor asap.....but ive already ordered all the stuff from FORD as well so i may as well take it & have it.....cheers for all the advice & comments lads
