mk 1 seems to me a liitle more harsh - a, to drive, b, comfort levels

had a daytona mex for 8 years and loved it, and one things for sure, they do put a smile on your face

You also get a lot more old blokes stopping you and saying "I remember when I used to have one of them"

Both great cars in my opinion, also not one I have owned has driven like another. I find them all different really??

get one of each, its the only way!

                Differences:

Mk1: stunner in it's own right, possibly better looking, oooohh those curves

Driveability: MkII without a doubt a modern car, no p.....ing about looking for switches stamping about on the floor for the washers etc etc....

Mk1 more chuckable, brilliant fun, more so than the MkII with it's more pronounced understeer.

More metal = better feeling = stiffer shell, with it's smaller glass area, the Mk1 has a better shell, you're unlikely to see a Mk1 with cracks at the base of the B & C pillars! MkII suffers badly here if given some stick!

Instrumentation, Mk1, nightmare, MkII a dream (won an award in '75 for it's instruments)

Both fantastic for different reasons, one common denominator RUST

Had both, love em both. In an ideal world would have to be the mk1.
