  • private plate?

Does anyone know if there is a quicker way to swop a private plate over back to the original one so that i can sell my car??
I have a buyer but i dont think he will wait the 6 to 7 weeks it takes to legally do the swop, ive been to the DVLA office today but they only send the documents off for you,(total waste of time ), i thought going to the DVLA office would be an over the counter jobby, but no!
    Any one??????

Unfortunetly there isn,t, sometimes, you used to be able to wait, they now have stopped that. Its a total pain in the ar-e, i do these regulary, always slow things up. There isn,t an easy way round it. Thats the modern world, sad to say, sorry i couldn,t be anymore constructive. just confirmng what you already know.

Which DVLA office did you go to? Manchester like I said? Did you take the car? (they needed to see mine)

When I took mine off the escort cosworth they put it on retention there and then and gave me a new tax disk. The registration document with the new allocated number then comes in the post a few weeks later.

              This What I Do

Take it to your local DVLA office you should get back the plate change within 2 days, change the plates sell them the car and post the logbook on afterwards which i staking about 2 weeks at the moment, photo copy th eoriginal logbook to show proof of owner shit.
As long as they dont have to tax car you should be OK
Its a stupid system set up
