Well done guys, are you out next weekend ?
Good preparation and good parts pay dividends in the end,car looks well ,everything on it is practicle and for a purpose . i.e buffty look and go faster stripes don't make it more reliable and make it any faster.
Hope to see you on the stages in the future.

many thanks to all replies on here

well here goes the mission was accomplished !!!!!

well after getting up to ****ermouth and unloading the car first off was to M-Sport for scrutineering (wow what a set up) after noise check we came in to the workshops for a full check and passed first time then with paperwork in hand off to collect the rallitrak (emergency walkie talkie) then into M-Sport for documentation and another queue (but nice smilie faces helped ) once this was all done we left the car their overnight as that place is safer than my house met back up with si (as in M-Sport only crew allowed ) then off to hotel a few beers and a battered sausage

sat up early for the teams usual full fry up then off to dop off van and sort out vans and maps etc. now joined by louie ,off back to M-Sport for car and on our arrival time we arrive at MTC 1 to be met by Bobxpack so after him wishing us well were off , first stop ****ermouth town centre for a start on the ramp greeted by the mayoress , then off to the woods we go not realising i had forgot my balaclava (usually to hand even during the week ) so after custom on the phone for 5 to young wilfred we get him to fetch it to us but we only just make it !!!! (big thanks to Wilfred for the help otherwise who knows ????)

into ss1 we go after another amendment to sign to say watch out furkin slippy !!!! 10-5-4-3-2-1 were off and boy was it slippy threading between the twigs and not thinking of more than a corner at a time we make a slightly cautious start but after a scare or 2 we was breaking the rust off and soon we were getting into it pace notes and all !!!! just after halfway their was a crest/jump taken with vigore me and dave laughed our heads off on landing (the photographer caught us all wheels off ) on getting to the end it didnt seem like 6.5 miles (there were cars off all over the place in here young mikkleson smashed his focus WRC to a pile of bits and it was just going up for sale ) but then its off to service and time for the lads (lee and wilf to get some action)

after a quick look over and a double check on fuel etc. we are off down into grizedale (lots of old R.A.C.'s ran in here years ago) wow how rough can it get we got a good run in the first one but landed hard onto some rocks and flatterned the manifold (see steve's pic) but it didnt dent our motivation after almost 12 miles we cleared another stage but then with no service staright into the next stage this was a baptism of fire after coming over a crest thinking i was going left it went sharp right we landed on the road but i couldnt quiet keep it out of the drainage ditch but after selecting a lower gear we manage to keep going (note to self anywhere 3 miles walk from a car park and hundreds of specky's means defo blackspot !!!!!!) then for the next mile dave manage to tighten his belt so tight i nearly needed vaseline to get him out we managed to stay out of trouble and cleared ss3 then back upto service 40 ish miles

service was another full look over and check alls tight etc. fill fuel etc. fit lights ans looking like with all delays we will run in the dark !!!! no probs in service then to ss4 greystoke again which is ss1 reversed and the thought of even more caution but we agreed to change to descriptive on the notes and we had a really good run thro here even if i was cautious dave was bloody good on the notes and we cleared it no bother at all then now off to ss5 boy i was glad we fitted the cibies at service as when got to the start it went pitch black then when we got just off the start it started raining then 3/4 of the way thro it hail stoned with what looked like golf balls but no probs to us lads we cleared ss5 but it was 4kin slippy just down the road to ss6 no the screen was misting up and i was raining harder and harder so after trying to keep the screen clear we pulled upto the start at ss6 up able to see out but soon as lights went on it helped but this stage had plenty of hairpins and some really scary stuff ie hairpins with fresh air on my side !!! we tried to keep the screen clear but when trying to drive flat in 3rd my head said take it easy so whilst driving the stage and wiping the screen we took it easy and lost lots of time but kept it safe !!!!! stage cleared manage to stall it but bump started down hill then we came across si and louie in the chase and took some blue roll to wipe the screen it was slightly better but then that got wet on the start to ss7 so 1 last 1 to do and screen was getting worse so off we went into ss7 me trying to keep on it but also wiping screen with my hand but we finally finished ss7 wow we have done it !!!!!!!!!!

only got to get back to finish to hand time cards in then yipee

thats it 81st overall 5th in class in the oldest car in the event not bad for the crews first ever forest event and some of the slight probs we had made a good sense of humour test for me and dave and we are now going to see whats next !!!!! well i think we have done well on our first multi venue with dave having more to do than me and we never got any lateness and entered every control on time THANKS DAVE we wouldnt of got round without you M8 !!!!!!!!!

now here's the big u's THANKS To dave for hard work on the maps etc. Si and Louie in the chase ,lee and wilf on the van , big bob with all his help before during and after, mr ogle cheers lads and all the support from you lads on here we will be at a stage rally near you sooner or later

p.s. cheers to our sponser P+S carpets for all your carpet and vinyl needs

p.p.s. we never seen a out in the woods lets hope he gets his coat and gets lost before show season

dave car didnt need more than a spanner onto just check not tighten the boys didnt need to spin the spanners

tyres lasted all day but they were as good as new when they went on and do look s/h now like but would still go again for the single venue men (on the rough tarmac events)

shame i know kev buti want to make sure i am upto their standard in the bhrc when we do their events which should be later this year
