  • Introduction

Hi everyone have been visiting this site on and off over the last couple of years and thought it was about time I introduced myself after posting my first thread.

Mk2 Escorts have been my favourite car since I was a kid and my first 4 back in the 90's were right bangers, sold my last in 97 which was a minty sport. After a 6 years of fwd nothing special and 2 children later and a bit of spare cash I needed another.

I currently have a MkII Escort 1600 Sport which I have owned for the past 3-4 years. It has changed quite a bit since I have owned it, mainly improvements to bodywork and quite alot of welding etc after a big MOT failure.
It is an on going project as I don't like to take it off the road for any amount of time so if I said, "I will soon be putting the stripes on." 18 months ago, or fitting my front spoiler, 12 months ago I wasn't lying its just I haven't got around to doing it yet.

    Here is my car.

    Cheers Paul

Thanks for the welcomes and nice comments.
My car always looks better in pictures, it's not a show car more in-between daily driver to rotbox standard compared to alot of the cars on here.
Main thing is I would rather drive it any day compared to the more modern jelly moulds, accept for when its snows and I can't get a grip on the road, torrential rain when the wipers dont move quick enough and my feet start to get wet, and frosty mornings with a barely warm demister. Roll on the summer

That reminds me of one day I was driving through the lanes in an ex mk2 and had some fags in the drivers side parcel tray. After going through a small flood not too slow it wrote off the whole packet.

My old stereo which was in the car at the time had rust around the bottom edge when I removed it.
