      got my first rs 2000 when 18, mk2 1600 sport at 20 and mk2 rs2000 at thirty. Put the first one on its side day i got it, spun the second one through a hedge on day two of owning it and was very nervous for the first week of driving the third one!

          I was nearly 17 i bought a 2 door 1100 escort PRC 99L bought it in 1987 for £100 put weller eight spokes and bubble archers on it my dasd painted it electric blue
          Sold it 12 months later and bought a MK2 Rs 2000 lookalike.
          Never looked back still got a MK1 and Mk2 Rs 2000

            That was it, until the mid 1980's when I started stage rally co-driving in a Mk2 Escort Group 1 1300. After two sucesfull years, we rebuilt the car to Group 4 with a 1600 BDA. We had mixed success over the next two years, but then my driver got married and had to sell the car.
            I found some pictures of the Mk2 Rally car and scaned them in. Sorry for the poor quality, they are just over 20 years old.

            My first ever rally as a co-driver "hanging on for grim death" in a Mk2 Escort Group 1 1300. This is the Britivic stages run by the Chelmsford Motor Club which I was a member of in 1984.


            The highlight of my novice co-driving. The Manx National in 1986. The same car built in to a Group 4 with a 1600 BDA.


            Those were the days....

              20 --1979 mk 2 rs in beige pup 646t bought it 1982 cost £2500 sold cos it kept getting nicked bought the worst car I've ever owned chocalate brown porsche 924 piece of shite ..................... girlies loved it though

                I was 17, MK2 1300GL 4dr, Roman Bronze with black vinyl roof.
                Absolutley loved it, after 6 months blew the engine up doing 94mph downhill Scrapped it and bought a 1300 popular plus 4dr in pale light blue, fitted some ring spotlights, a dodgy aftermarket spoiler, rolltop recaros and capri ghia wheels and painted a big fat black stripe down each side, looked crap but at the time I thought it was cool and was more interested in my sounds etc. That got scrapped too after mot fail on too much welding, What did I expect I only paid £125 for the whole car from an Arthur Daley in Buckingham. The photos are too embarassing to scan in.

                  16, mk2 1.1pop plus. Beige.Painted steels white harrier style stripes. Got it for £65 as a non runner with a damaged rear arch. Sorted it ran it for 12 mths and sold it for £350. Next a mk1 1300 in tawny brown with steels of a mk3 that i won off my future best man in a game of pool,hustler! Then got into xr3i's! The days!

                    got my first escort in 1989 1300 sport r reg £1200 body work excellent got 1600 engine in it had it a week had massive oil leak from crank seal chunk broke of crank engine out built 1700 stage 3 head and 270 piper cam got it on road undriveable got it on the rollers 75 bhp at wheels done my head in to noisey sold it and bought a mk1 astra gte now thats a rare bird
