Well the week started well.

Well Monday was good except it was my first night. went round to see an Rs again, and agreed a price and was to pick it up this saturday had been told getting a loan would be easy with my credit history and bank risk factor. How happy was i.

next day went to sort money out on line, this was rejected. phoned bank, and the reason given was i have not payed credit card bill for eight months.
Next phoned both my credit card company's, who both said they are very happy with me never missed any payements when needed.

Logging onto equifax credit report agency i discover some one has taken out a barclaycard in my name using my old address but a different date of birth. they then maxed it and never payed it now it has just defaulted. How annoyed was I?

Have sent in evidence but could take a month before barclaycard will dissasociate this person from me. Can't describe how gutted i feel.

Has been reported to police and the car owner has very kindly offered to not actively sell the car for a few weeks. What can i say there are some very genuine people out there still, good to know.

how long would that have taken to surface only you wanting a loan, what a shitter mate, at least the owners being decent, which one are you buying ? good luck with it

Thanks, think he will because as i said very down to earth, but i have told him that i can't ask him to hold specialy as not sure when it will be sorted, so if it does get sold then it obviously was not meant to be.

Barclaycard not helpful.

I don't even have a point of contact or reference number. I have to ring customer services and get bounced around and cut off and listen to "have your 16 digit account number reay" 6 times. I have to explain the situation to everyone i speak to. They won't give me anymore info and just say its a lengethy process. They havetn't even bothered to write to me.

I can't and don't want to keep the RS owner waiting indefinatley.

On another note owner has given me permission to use his name so, here it is

Have you got to borrow all the money?

Can't you offer to pay up what you've got and borrow the rest from family?

Borrowing from mates not really being an option, never good to have financial dealings with friends is it?

Keep pestering 'em,it's the only way!!

People are always getting pestered by offers of credit cars and the like can't you get something like that, despite your " credit unworthiness"?

I've got the problem around the other way, I'm after a car have money waiting but it's taking ages to get something sorted with seller, mind you he's in another country, and speaks neither of the languages I speak!

Bloody frustrating though

Great good news at last. Had a letter from Barclaycard today who say that there investigation now complete, shows that it was not me that took out a card with them and that it was taken out fraudulently by someone else. They are going to instruct credit file company's to take it off my file.
