Jury Duty

Hello has anybody done JURY DUTY before i'v to go on Monday to see if i get called for it i'm keeping my fingers crossed i won't . I thought with me having a little one and no one to watch her i would get out of it but the said i have to put her to a child minder and the pay for her to be there not one bit HAPPY with doing that.

uncle and boss did it a few years back - they apparently had "interesting cases"

I have done two weeks jury service at winchester. It was very boreing lots of sitting around. In the last week i was sworn into a very disturbing case involving buggery etc but when the prosecution read the list of witnesses they would be calling one of the jury new one of them so we were all thrown out and a new jury selected.

You can claim travel expenses and loss of earnings i would think that will include child care, but they only pay the expenses on production of receipts.

You can not get out of jury services easily,but if you have an exceptional reason they some times delay it, which they did with me.

done it for 2 weeks last year was allright ended up in pocket aswell with the expenses!!!
