My workshop is on a farm, so the yard is just outside the door, along with about 20 noisy Beef cattle, and barns full of interesting old shite LOL
    Cheers Rob.

talking about barn finds I just saw this in another forum it made me vey very jealous and pity for that guy, he needs to do alot of work

Apparently the owner left the cars lying in the barn for the past 15 years and it has only been opened when he decided to sell a car

                        All the time
cos i have a recovery truck i'm allways draging old fords out of barns and garages, some storage yards/barns you wouldn't beleive the tin tucked away in the corners
Only last year a mate found an M reg Mk1 2 door escort in a naibours garage, bought it for £350, sold it next day for £500 and he was happy (did tell i was gunna kick him in da nuts for not telling me )
It got stolen last week from Dagenham from the blokes back ally it was just parked there for 6 months unlocked and eventually somone took it

I used to sub for a large garage renting company disposing of all it's dumped cars, owners who'd defaulted on the bill or died ect, got paid £50 to take away a 2 door Mk2 , straight up the A1 and sold that little gem to a rally prep firm

One garage i had to clear contained the entire contents of a closed down ford dealers, full of NOS pannels (80's), micro fiche readers/sheets ect, took me 2 years on Ebay to shift that little lot, still got boxes of unidentified NOS in the garage form other manufacturers

Only a few months back i had to drag a pre production Mk1 cortina out of a garage it had sat in for 30 years, it was hanging but possably the oldest cortina still about the owners still has the consol rally car he raced in back in the early 60's tucked away so there's still surprises out there

Hardly a barn find and it wasn't Chard it was Sturminster Newton, I should know

I bought it from a bloke in Chard in the state it was in in the pic, no time nor money at the time to sort it out

I only stumbled upon YFX as the owner flogged my mate a Mk1 Golf GTi. 100.000 miles on the clock, and had already had engine diff and gbox overhauled by an ex-owner who worked for Rolls Royce at Filton

I was hardly gonna leave it outside my front door was I?

What are you accusing me of exactly?

Abandoning a child in a steel shed or a 30 odd year old car that through circumstances beyond my control I didn't have time or cash to see a resto through.

Bit of a funny attitude, instead of being happy that you had the chance to resto a motor that hadn't been caned you blame me for doing the best I could to protect it??

I seem to remember having the car covered actually, probably not when you came as you wanted to "view it" anyway if want a climate where it's not damp move to California.

I also heard that the "previous owner" got some bad press in the Havoc, if it upset you that much to see the RS in that sort of storage then you shouldn't have bought it. No need to slag me in a publication.

Calm down Jamie was just taking the water , there is plenty of it going on here on this forum.

Can mail you a copy of article i wrote in havoc if you so wish,,no personal pop at you just stated barn was very damp and seats were mouldy.

Was just shocked and i understood why you had to sell at time , was over the moon to buy it and am pleased you did not park it outside your front door.
