  • Newbie to the Forum

    Hi All,

Newbie to the forum as of last weekend (7th Jan 07). Recommended by Frosticles (Cheers Kev).

Where to start, have loved Mk2 Escorts since I was was 17, first car was a 2 door 1300L. Wrote that off afetr three months. Bought and 1100 pop plus and somehow managed to swap the engine, fronr legs, brakes and interior off the 1300 waiting to be scrapped and make a good 1300 again. (only took a weekend to do!)

Then had a 14 year gap between that 1300 and my current 4 door 1.6GL Auto - not going to set the world alight in that i know but it was all i could afford at the time! Married with a couple of ankle biters and live in Mansfield, North Nottinghamshire. Work for Jaguar / Land Rover as a development manager for their dealership apprentice programme. Been in the motor industry since leaving school selling parts at various levels before I got into apprenticeship training.

Also currently the chair of my old little MK2 Escort club, have a look at the website if you interested. Would love an RS at some point, but think I am going to need to rob a bank! Anyone want to drive the get away car?, It can be a RS if you wish!

CheeRS - Seems to be the general sign off most of you are using

"Understandable, one of my owners club member has recently had his pride and joy nicked. No news on its return either."

"You could be frosticles. Trouble is there is little or no chance of getting these cars back. I bet most end up being broken up for spares."
