I set it on fire
Had a call from breakdown service I am contracted to
Went to a transport/storage depot to owner of an 04 plate Triumph Thunderbird Sport 900
Flat battery non-starter
Went out fitted jump leads and let battery charge for a couple of minutes
Tried to start but owner had flooded it trying to start earlier and bike was very damp
Removed petrol tank and removed 2 of the 3 spark plugs with the limited tools supplied with the bike
Reconnected jump leads let a bit more charge into battery
Hit the starter button
And blew the battery up
Large flash and flames from battery (almost had no eyebrows - call me Sinjit)
Flames set fire to air filter housing that then itself exploded with "flooded" pertol in it
Shouted to owner to get a fire extinguisher and he shouted back "why ?"
I answered "because your bike is on fire !"
Bike now safely back at my unit
Have had to order a new battery and air box (at my cost - not worth arguing as to who's fault it was)
No other damage and bike was washed down straight away to remove any acid (most of the acid burnt away anyway)
Luckily owner was not to mad at me and I dropped him off at the pub
