    Sick of British weather?

Sick of the general public being moaning arses?

    Sick of neighbours?

Sick of the state of the roads?

    Sick of the NHS?

I want to live near a beach one day and luckily I have the type of job where I can work almost anywhere.

Anyone ever done this/considering doing it?

Where would you go? I'd love to move to Florida one day but I have heard it is really hard to get in full time (6 month visa then you have to come back to the UK)

Live abroad for a few years .... and then see how many of those things are really worth complaining about when seen in the light of comparison.

NHS - Alternative in most other countries is about £150 a month for health insurance and in the US they won't touch if you are without it - leave you to bleed.

British Weather - try living in 30+ all the time. Sounds good. But gets on your tits.

Roads. - VERY variable around the world.

Neighbours - just move to another locale.

The grass always appears greener .... you will be very surprised at what exactly you miss - and don't miss.

If you want to do it why not just go the coast somewhere in the UK for starters ? Many Europeans would kill for that.

I did it Nov 1998, and whilst dave has a point, i.e. no national health service etc, I do miss the UK at times but can't really complain with my little lot here in Germany, far better summers for a start!

      Beer's no bad either:-)

Untill recently (EBAY, moan moan...) a continental Europe wide supply of MkII's to buy up, (on the cheap, STD / RS's exp). Whenever i come back on holiday me mates & family tell me to stay where I am as it's just getting worse and worse over there.

Both my Sisters live in Queensland Australia.
One went about 20 years ago... The other 2 years ago... Would they come back.... They both said no chance.
They live 10 minutes walk from a beach on the gold coast/barrier reef & 30 minutes drive to the rain forests.
My brother in law said it's paradise... I have yet to find out.. But will have to go out there soon as the Escorts are so cheap.

They took the kids one was 10 & the other 12 they have settled no probs & when you ask them what they miss about here it's walls sausage & walkers crips.
                      Mark....

Lee, second time we went did exactly that, spend a fortnight on the North Island, toured around then flew over to the South Island and did the same, fantastic way of doing it, we found you,d be driving around and then come across some fantastic scenery, so you,d stop, put the kettle on , and have a brew, nice way of doing it, you will really enjoy it, where are you stopping over before you get there
