  • Not Mk2 but still to die for..............

    well.
the visit to Austria was excellent, (got the "chocolate balls " by the way)and also popped across the border to Germany to see a few things, one of them was a Trip to Schnitzer, the "works" BMW world touring car team. I was again very fortunate to be given a personal one on one visit and was given permission to photograph whatever i wanted, and shown the innermost workings of this very proffessional and successfull team as they currently prepare the cars for the next Round in china- i am indeed very fortunate as hardly any one gets this type of privlage, aws you will see over the next few pages.

    first off, .......................

outside the teams headquarters which also forms part of a huge dealership which also houses some amazing cars from past and present.

and here's a few of their "modest" results in case you havent heard of them (by the way, they are current WTC champions for makes AND Drivers - Andy Prialux, who, despite his froggy sounding name is actually British)

    more to follow,

    anyway...................

anyone seen one of these in the flesh before ?

ive always liked them but this was the first i have actually seen in the metal, and they fired it up for me to hear its tremendous roar,

Did i mention they had won a few things ?
there were several hundred trophies litteraly lying around the place, commemorating all the successes over the years...........

couple of poses, just for Rab, lark -- again, notice the trophies............

    more to follow,

and so it was into the workshops, personal tour, and every detail explained from shell preperation right through to the testing and set up

was a bit like being in Gerards Garage

as a point of interest, have a look at the detailing in these roll cages and links.

hope mine comes out like those above, lol

too many pics to post up (sorry !) however visit was rounded off with signed pics of the currrent drivers and some fine German wine, and an invitation to return.

The workshop visit was particularly pleasing, as i was able to chat and get involved with the Guys, one of them was an Escort Fan and owned an RS1600 some years ago, and despite them being very busy to get things ready for China, they certainly made me feel welcome.

Next Stop, Spyker, Holland, in two weeks time.

yeah, i was surprised about the pics, saying that i had complete freedom to walk about and literally took hundreds, this topic has just a few of them on show. Maybe something got lost in the translation and they thought i was an official photographer from BMW
