help mk2 rs2000 p plate

hello guys, been told to come here for help, i had a phone call from a chap who wanted me to assess the condition of his mk2 rs2000 he called it aone of the first ones made but kept calling it a blue top refering to its vinal roof... ive asked a few of the guys in our group about it but they have never heard of it.

any way teh car is a p plate it was put away 1992 and ive just seen it, covered it crap in fact there is a next of some sort ontop of the roof, it has a vinal roof and big fold back sunroof, its not to bad structurally but it defianly needs sills and all teh area around the spare wheel well is gone front drivers inner wing is gone too as are the doors and boot inner lip.

its his pride and joy and he wants it done i have given a rough guesstimate at £1500 for welding then it will need a respray and complete mechanical overhaul.... i said hes better selling it as it for as much as he can get and buying a good one, but this guys pretty keen to get it welded.

he seems a very nice chap and just wants to use it now and again, think its worth doing ?dont want the bloke wasting his money its yellow btw

need pictures, but yes it would be worth doing if structurally sound, mechanicals are easy to get, body panels are now very expensive and getting them fitted isnt cheap either
