The AVO Club offer a simalar service , but this setup causes major headaches for small clubs.
1 getting someone honest to run it for nothing,
2 sourcing suppliers for remanufacturing
3 Catalogue parts then post and pack
4 Constant phone calls / web orders
5 Good old vat.
The avo club is now slowing down its spares operation due to the above but ,,, they are a small club not a big club like the RSOC.
I personally would rather see Rallye News full of spares , be it easily aquired parts like brake discs to remanufactured heater hoses etc . Dont get me wrong rallye news has some good articles , but all RS's with the execption of the Focus are classic cars now, and to keep classic cars on the road you need classic spares .
There is so much avaliable out there its just a matter of appointing someone in the club to sourse , catalogue and sell , A MUCH BETTER WAY FOR A CAR CLUB TO EARN EXTRA INCOME!!!!!! far better than giving full blown club membership to newer ford performance stuff ST etc. Unless of course you want Rallye News to become Ford Perfomance News , and we can read loads of articles on bling bling st's and when i was a lad all i ever wanted was a ST24.
I for one as said want to keep Ford Rallye Sport going and could not give a chuff if the bad marketing men at Ford dont bring back the RS. There are over 30 years of rs models keep them alive and the club
