My dad (RIP) had a variety of cars, from Triumph Stag, big yank tanks (no idea of name), A 35, Pugs etx. My mum had a beetle which I got taken to skool in, and then a nice blue BMW 2002. The old man then got in to Mercs, from an old (they werent then) 280 SE, and then got newer ones.

My step dad, had a LHD really old bright yellow mini cooper which was great, then went down the old Renault route with Ren 4, 16 (got air of Matchams lane it that.. hey Gra).

He then worked for Alfa Romeo in southampton as a salesman, so he had a few Alfa Suds, which were nice, even a Ti (prob where I get my luv of Alfas from).

The only Ford I remember was a MK3 Escort Estate which was a company car when he used to sell typewriters ! lol He now has an Jag XJS, tidy.

nope its fine to change ........... my brother ( :winka: ) , had a silver harrier, that was later my first car ( taste from and early age eh ? ) and a fiat 131 which was cool - his first car was a 1850 auto dolomite which he sold then bought a brand new burgundy ( ) mk3 1.1 escort,
apparently after that he never had any more money left each month and had to "scave" off neil giles (mk2 rs2 owner for ages) to pay for lunch when they both worked for bournemouth corporation as 'chippys'
            great days eh neil ????

Dave, Yes thats the one Wiggens in Shirley, I think he must of been there in the early 80's or so. I liked the old Alfas suds, I think most have rusted away now tho.

Yes thats it Dave,Bloody awful thing it was .I remember my brother crashing it one night coming home from a night out,it was a bas***d to drive when you were sober (you know what I mean) ended up in the local beck, draged it out with a tractor and it only had a smashed headlight,
                    luckily for him.

My dad used to own a mk2 lotus cortina when i was about 6.Apparentley he won it in a poker game no less!Always remember he wouldn't let me clean it with him.The only part i could be trusted to wash was the wheels, which were steels with the pointy hub cap on.
Anyway,i remember waking early one morning and asking if dad had gone to work as i couldn't see his beloved car outside.I was puzzled why mum ran off shrieking to the bedroom to wake up my gutted farther.
We found the gutted car minus everything down a back alley in Leytonstone,so was obviously nicked to order, and i guess various parts now adorne various cortina's today maybe?!
