lifetime guarantees are a load of twaddle - they are guarantees against faulty materials or faulty workmanship (which would normally be apparent the first time you use the thing anyway). Draper's guarantee, for example, doesn't cover the ratchet mechanisms in wrenches (which are items subject to normal wear and tear).
