I haven't seen a C.F.mag since my subscription ran out in Dec 05 and I don't want to. It should be Classic Max Power.I just got fed up of each issue having Escorts with 27,000 BHP 42'' wheels etc. and how many 'Ultimate XFlow guides' can you do!!!
I don't even bother with the shows any more.
I must confess that I have sold my MK1 rs2000 Group 1 and now own a group 4 HS Chevette but having been in the Escort seen for 26 yrs (first mex at 18) I thought I would miss it but I don't perhaps its my age,is it like Policemen Classic Ford Owners are getting younger and their tastes are different to mine!

I was going to build a HSR replica as a first car, had a couple of Chevettes when i was 15 and everything, but something else came along, i was young and stupid and ended up scrapping them... I wont tell you what replaced them out of fear of laughing and pointing...
Everybody makes mistakes... especially when they are young
The HSR is definately on the list of "dream cars" that one day i might own if i'm lucky or indeed stop spending all my money on old Fords.

Blimey... is it me or is this site turning into www.grumpyoldmenrallyesportescorts.co.uk??!!! Personally I think it's great that there are now two monthly magazines dedicated to our choosen hobby. The competition between the two mags should benefit us all in terms of quality & content as the mags try to out do each other, with better and more varied articles each month. I think CF has already raised it's game and improved compared to how it was 12 months ago?? Your always going to get a bias of content towards vehicles in the South East at Retro Ford due to there location in Kent, and likewise CF probably feature more cars in the the South West & Wales due to them being based in Bath. To be fair to RF they do appear to trapes up to Bruntingthorpe each month which has got to be a 300 mile round trip.

So what if the magazines don't always get right, exactly how many perferations there are in a MK II's headlining!! (tonge in cheek example)! The fact that some of us do know the amount we do, about are cars, perhaps show's what sad anorack's we have all become??!!.... Mastermind anyone?? Chosen subject : MKII RS Escorts 1975-1980...??! After all, do you believe everything you read in the papers every day??!!

ben, perhaps, to change the apparent growth in the feelings about retro ford, you could on occasion steer yourself away from the turbospud/old skool ford crowd just to have a change in the cars that appear in the magazine, ( cos there are some that have appeared several times if only in the background, or on shootouts ). there are some seriously nice cars owned by the guys from this forum, who dont visit other bb's or club get togethers. there are also cars being built now, that once completed should grace one magazines front cover or another.

I can understand what you are saying and i totally agree, there are loads of wicked cars out there. I am more than willing to travel anywhere in the country to visit a car for a feature. Whilst we have run a lot of cars from OSF, that's because i know of them and the boys and girls on there have put together some nice cars. We have got lots of cars shot already which are nothing to do with any forum... Its hard to believe in this day and age but there is a world outside of Ebay and internet Forums (apparantly - i've not seen it myself).
All it takes is an email with some pics, or a letter in the post and i'll be in the companys Ford Focus (the black one, because the other two are hanging) with a photographer.

I like Dave's idea about getting a group to take on our Test track, going to have a sit down next week and work out the logistics of the whole thing. Reakon that it would be a good day out for all.
