yes this was the van from ebay, body overall in good shape, needs work & wiring problem sorted...blew a head gasket on M6 at Tebay service station, lost gears etc...things went from bad to worse....luckily my mate is in the AA, otherwise it was £800 plus vat to get from tebay to holyhead...... , enjoyed the weekend even though we had the problems

thanks guys for the comments,
i was thinking of going with a stage 3 engine on twin 40's, my mate thinks the van would be to fast for it.....with the way the law has changed over here with penalty points im gonna agree with him....ive decided to get the engine rebuilt, bored out to 1660, skimmed & unleaded head, maybe a kent cam?, twin 40's & a 4 branch manifold.....anyone got any ideas will this be a good set up or whats you opinion?
mk1 vans are very hard to find, i missed out on a few good ones with not having the funds at the time, but then things fell into place for me & this one came up....it needs work, hopefully nothing to major panel wise (just a a whole new front end), maybe some chassis work etc but overall a good van....so i hope???? there are a few mk1 vans floating around over here for sale but €5k for a rolling shell, no thanks....best of luck with finding one......try escort-tec or GS escorts
