the conventional rule of thumb is that, choosing a Diesel over a comparable Petrol model, you need to be doing at least 20k pr annum mileage for it to be financially worthwhile (taking into account purchase cost + fuel cost etc)....

forgetting the usual diesel thing, the other model mentioned 530d is faster more powerful and uses less fuel , only the initial purchase price ruins it abit
