I'm looking at the mo at a capri 2litre laser which is on ebay item no http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...=ADME:L:RTQ::1

From looking at the car what do people think its worth?. The thing is I
want to use it as a daily driver as a 1 litre fiesta just doesn't cut it. Can
anybody who has had one give me any idea what there like as an every
    day car .

James, I have a 1987 Laser that is used as an occasional runabout. It suffers from the usual rust areas that affect Escorts, plus an additional dodgy area on the rear spring hangars. Mechanically the car is cheap enough to keep on the road, no magical "RS" prefix means that the parts are reasonably priced and there are plenty of specialist sources. Performance is limited due to the added weight and handling leaves much to be desired, the brakes are virtually the same as a standard RS set up but have more to do because of the added weight and don't really inspire confidence. However, as a cheap to insure classic which everyone wishes to stop you and discuss it's ok, but only expect to pootle around - that said, you will get it sideways without too much trouble. Maintenance is a doodle with plenty of space to work in, expect to get the engine out in under 3 hours without any problems on your first attempt.

Having read the e.bay ad of the link you have posted, all I would say is that the owner has made the sensible recommendation that you view the car before bidding - buyer beware!

      HTH,

Thanks for the comments guys. With regard to insurance Aaron I
got a quote of 307 euro's extra on top of what i'm paying now which
works out at 1450 3rd party under my mother with an open policy. I
was looking at a fiesta rs turbo but they want 4000 euros on the same
            policy.
