i got my mexico out of storage today

i tried to start it and it was on the button
looking over it needs about 8 bits of welding
to the strut top and wing rails
inner sill and floor pan
and rear arches

and thats it

i am going to book it in for the acid dip very soon and then its of to escort-tec for the welding to be done

i carnt wait to get going on her and have it running again for cumbria 2007
i will be driving it all the way up

as soon as i start i will get some pics up in the resto section

whats the deal with this acid dip process then Paul..? How much/who's doing it?

I've read lots of stories about this type of process eating away all the seam sealer, and other little unwanted side effects to the shell. Not doubting it, in fact would like to be convinced that its a good idea as I wouldn't mind having it done.

well it does remove all sealer paint filler but leaves a very nice finish the shell and it shows all the bad bits so you don't miss any and when it gets dipped in the primer it goes inside the chassis rails so there is a nice new protection there
the co is up north near derby and its cost about £1350 for both

if you take pics of all the sealer the you can replacate it

i think its the best way to make a mint shell
