Took the RS for some fuel tonight , promptly emptied the lot straight down the side of the tank , into the boot and out onto the forecort , the filler neck had come away from the tank .................again !!!

paul we spoke about this at cumbria as it happened to me a few times .i defo think the 69 litre must have had a different rubber filler hose

mine was very short on the 69 litre tank also - have had to use some very expensive pipe to make reach - have heard that some tanks have another piece of tube to fit inside of the neck ! is this true ?

How many straps have you got on the tank Paul ?

Do you have the insert between the jubilee clips and the filler neck ? Some std cars have these and others don't.

Rob,
got 4 individual straps that make up into 2 , one strap front to back and one side to side. No make up piece on filler neck. Going to get some hose via a work supplier to make up a longer filler.

Most embarressing bit was going in to pay for 22p of petrol ......20p worth of which was running across the garage forecourt
