  • Are there any mk2's on a X plate?

Just wondering if there are any late registered mk2's out there on a X plate ? You sometimes see the odd D plate series 1 turbos and a few J plate series 2 turbos , would be good to see a RS2000 on a X

          Cheers paul

Thought there must be some somewhere as there is allways a few late registered models of most cars knocking about

Would it make the car worth slightly more do you think as it does D plate series 1's?

I almost bought a black X plate car in 2001 from a guy who lived in Surrey, it had been recently rebuilt by Mark Carless but to be honest I was not totally happy about the work that had been done and I didn't think it warranted the money he was asking. At the time, the figure was £5.5k which was a lot for a MK2 5 years ago and I had already put a £300 deposit on a biege car with loads of X Pack options on so I declined the X plater.

I regretted it in hindsight as the beige car turned out to be a real pain - apparently, this X plate car was one of 6 1980 builds bought by the dealer and held over until 1981 before they were registered.

There was a white 'Y' plater that used to bomb around Maidstone in the late 80's but I think there was something not right about the plate - it wasn't a late spec car and I seem to remember talking to the guy hat owned it and him telling me some tale about how he had ended up with the plate.

There used to ba a white X plate car York in the early nineties owned by a complete tw@t of a copper who was RSOC member.
I used to own a yellow Y plate car that was actually a 1978 Belgian import converted to RHD. I was pulled up one day by the above mentioned plod out of curiosity due to the plate & after telling me about his X plate and enlightening me as to his RSOC membership - he gave me a ****in producer

                      W@nker

BTW yellow car is now owned by a guy in Darlington.

Used to be a Y plate in Largs Scotland but turned it was an Irish car re-registered as a Y coming back into the country.
