Gonna be yellow Johnie. Got the front arch fitted today, must say they are a lot easier than the back ones!! Offered the wheel up and well... I`m well impressed. The front arch took a tenth of the time it took to do the rears...
    The other arch tommorow then...

Other arch is now on. That make the car fully arched!!! :headbang:
I`ve done a bit more little bits of welding today.
Also started scraping the underside of the car
What a flippin job!! Gunna take ages!!

Can`t get over how good the wheels look on the car,
Can`t wait to get some Gp4 studs and see it sat on the floor

What ideas have you got for the underside? (paint, rustproofing, stonechip, underseal etc. etc.)

Possibly stone chip but depending on how bad it is when its all been
scraped off, may have to unerseal it... Time will tell... And dont i know
              it...

              Fun Times!

bit laborious, but I got my underside clean by:

painting on engine cleaner (Gunk type of stuff) with an old paint brush
waiting for an hour or so
scraping off with a plastic spatula (usually available in paint departments of DIY stores)
finishing off the remaining bits with Gunk soaked rag.

It took a while, and I tackled one square foot or so at a time, intermingled with other jobs. This method also enables you to get the stuff off behind those brackets and sections. Any way - it's a mess!

As they say... Many hands make light work... Get someone to help you.
I`ve been using a large pry bar, but lais on your back covered in underseal all day is a pain in the ass!! A good idea like dasadrew says it to tackle it bit by bit... Its a bit soul destroying otherwise...

A mk1 for the next project eh??

Me and Johnny5 have been scraping for most of the day, got most of the sh1t off, but it gets to you after a while...

So started on the BIG gear box housing... Chewed up 3 cutting discs!!
Tis a nice fit though, and its tidied up the engine bay loads...

Will have it welded in tomorrow and get on with a bit more scaping!!!

Looking at the size of that hole, I think it's "scaping" as in "landscaping"!

Got the tunnel welded in yesterday, did a bit more scraping...
And finished the last big big of welding off today on the chassis, dont think there is much left tot do now...

Tunnel is a nice fit, the gearbox wont scrape the body work now when its being re-fitted...

I`m gunna be lost for things to do soon...
