Haven`t posted for a while, had a virus on comp and had to format my h/d... been cracking on with the mk2 though...

Both front wings and both outer sills are now on ...

Just pulled the heater matix and motor out today to straighten the bulkhead and do a bit MORE welding...

Decided that i`m going to have it pained yellow, and i`m getting some forest arches for it... Ordering next week, when i get paid

Got the old man on with some filling, most of the welding is now done, just a few places that need patching now.

      Heres a few recent pics.

Today was spent flatting/filling/flatting filling... YAWN.

I`ve also removed most of the sound proofing from the gearbox tunell... YAWN.

I`ll be happy once the shell is painted. :flower:

Pained floor just in passenger side to see how it looked with minimal prepping, doesn`t look bad... Going to get some more seam sealer and seal the seams up tommorow, should look o.k when its been sealered primered and painted, now i know i dont have to do that much prep work inside... Thank God
Got the arches today aswell, there not as good a fit as i thought, i thought that you`d be able to put them up to the existing arch and they would sit right in the right place... Not a chance...
Need some measurements if anyone has any of how much lower than the swage line they fit, then i can get them in right place

Keep it going M11! I really feel for you - when I started a basket case like that years back my mates pulled me from the car and forced me to scrap it before I got obsessed! (but then I was actually doing another Escort at the time)

It's a real tribute that you're tackling all the stuff yourself and that's the way I like to do it myself. You must have the patience of a saint, m8!

Thanks for your support guys it means a lot

Having got my new arches the other day, thought i`d have a go at fitting one today...
I know i seem to be doing a bit here, a bit there a bit everywhere at the moment, but hopefully that way it will all come together at the end...
Decided to tackle the o/s/r, a bit more work involved than i expected...

This is before the work started...

Just cut the arch off... Hope i haven`t cut too much off

Trim back the inner arch, or should i say - inner rust... :tongue3:

And now its fitted... leased: ...

                          Yeah right, i wish...

Got the inner arch to plate to the back quater, hopefully get that done tomorrow, and get the arch riveted on, with the arch off now it looks like you could get 22" wheels on... :headbang:

Once again, cheers for support. :thumbleft:

seems a shame to chop them off but hey too ate now LOL

The old arch on this side wasn`t too bad on the out side but it was covering 2 rusty dead as a nail arches that would have rusted through give a jam jam full of water, especially when i`ve had it painted too... Dont want no bubbles coming through...

Got the alloy ones from Rally Design. £200 for set, cheapest place i could find.

Professional Motorsport Parts, Spares & Rally Equipment from Rally Design

p.s there is fear, but if i fcuk it up, i`ll have to buy a new quarter or do some more plating... more plating... argghhh, best not mess it up now!!!
