  • MK2 RS2000 Signal Green Broadstripe Resto

I thought it was time I posted up my resto thread on the board.

The story of the car is I purchased it from Alan Sherwood about 2 years ago, having got it collected from my local restoration company we got set about getting the car soda blasted straight away, as you can see from the pictures below the car came back in a sorrow state, new panels were immediately ordered and the long staking metal work process began, approx 800 hours in metal work alone.

Moving forward the car has since been prepared for primer then paint and the build begins as per pictures below

I am planning on full concours, no doubt I have made some mistakes along the way but we are learning

    Thanks in advance

The pictures below are how I purchased the car, this will give you a idea of the condition of her before my resto started.

              Dials set to zero

At the moment this is as far as the car is at.

The engine has been built, running gear has all been returned powdered coated and painted, there is a few parts that I am wanting still in which I will put in the wanted section to see if anyone on here can help

I am hoping for the car to be ready within the next 6 weeks.

What does the master cylinder look like,is it an early girling one with different size brake nuts?
